Ali leads strategic partnerships for NBC News Studios, as part of her larger role as SVP of Strategic Initiatives for NBC News. She collaborates with teams at NBCU and with external partners in book publishing and other specific areas to identify material for future docs, series and scripted projects. She also drives our presence at festivals and other special events, and has led comms for Studios since launch. She’s spent most of her career promoting the great journalism of the biggest brands in media, including NBC News, TIME, CNN and PEOPLE. And she’s known to throw a fabulous party (all for strategic purposes, of course), including the TIME 100 Gala. She’s the proud recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from her alma mater, the School of Journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the even-prouder mom of two sons.
